If you are searching for a high-quality, American made truck, you need to consider the 2020 Ford Ranger. It recently added a 2020 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study award to its list of accolades. This award is given out to the vehicle in each segment with the fewest issues within the first 90 days of ownership.
For the Initial Quality Study, J.D. Power surveys new vehicle owners and has them report any issues they may have encountered with their new vehicles. Issues are reported as problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). The lower the score, the better the vehicle does. The Ranger beat out the competition with the fewest problems.
Other Ford vehicles also received recognition in this study. The Ford Mustang was the only ranked vehicle in the midsize sporty car segment, while the Ford Super Duty took the top spot in the heavy-duty pickups group. The Ford Fusion took second place in the midsize car segment.
Along with vehicle quality awards, J.D. Power also recognizes vehicle manufacturing plants for producing high-quality vehicles. Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant, where the Ford Ranger is built, earned a silver Plant Assembly Line Quality Award in year. It was one of only two American plants to earn recognition.
